ABOUT ME

Becoming a therapist wasn’t a straight line, it was something I arrived at through my own lived experience.

I spent many years navigating struggles on my own, often feeling ashamed and believing something was broken inside me. That lived experience shapes how I show up as a therapist - not to pathologize you, but to help you understand and care for the parts of yourself that once kept you safe, but may no longer serve you. Together, we can gently untangle what’s no longer needed and make space for something new.

At the core of my work is a deep belief: that healing is possible when we feel truly seen, and my hope is that you’ll come to know yourself more fully, feel more rooted in your worth, and move through the world with greater self-trust and ease.

Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion.

Experience

Since entering private practice, I’ve worked primarily with adult women and couples navigating complex trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, and identity-related stress. Many of my clients are adult women who come to therapy carrying a mix of attachment wounds, cultural expectations, and perfectionism that shows up in both their inner world and relationships.

I’ve supported clients through a wide range of concerns, including relational conflict, family estrangement, people-pleasing and boundary challenges, inner child work, cultural disconnection, and the long-term effects of developmental and attachment trauma.

I discovered my love for couples therapy after repeatedly finding myself wishing a client’s partner was in the room with us, not to place blame, but to be part of the healing process. Couples therapy challenges both people to take ownership, stay present, and grow together. It’s demanding, but deeply meaningful.

In my work with couples, I’ve supported clients through communication breakdowns, emotional disconnection, trust ruptures, cultural and family-of-origin differences, and the aftermath of infidelity. I help partners slow down reactive patterns, rebuild emotional safety, and reconnect with the values that brought them together in the first place.

Early in my career before private practice, I served as a Care Specialist at a Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (NORC) in Manhattan, where I supported low-income, underserved, Mandarin-speaking older adults. My work focused on promoting emotional, physical, and social wellness, reducing isolation, and strengthening community connection. I later worked at University Settlement in a newly formed department called Families Thriving, where I was honored to be the first on-site clinician at Children’s Workshop School. There, I provided psychotherapy to students and collaborated closely with school staff to advocate for students' emotional and academic needs.

Community care and advocacy have always been personal to me, not just part of my work, but part of how I move through the world. While earning my MSW, I worked as a nanny and home care provider for a child with Dravet Syndrome and autism. In addition to supporting his daily medical and developmental needs, I led a grassroots fundraising campaign that raised over $12,000 to help cover his special education tuition. These experiences continue to shape the way I show up as a therapist, grounded in care, justice, and deep respect for the complexity of each person’s story.
